Jason Pollina '18 Participates in Environmental Fellows Training at UMass- Amherst

Senior Jason Pollina attended a leadership training for environmental fellows on November 12, 2017 and was the only high school student included. As described by Jason, "The training was hosted by Joe O'Brien, the Executive Director of the Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund. The other leaders of the training were Anne Wright, the Director of Organizing and Advocacy of ELM and Lindsay Mitnik of Mass PIRG. Different topics we covered were how to do effective advocacy on the local and state levels, campus organization and how to start environmental projects, legislative work and effective means of communication, including social media. There was also a career panel, and we were visited by Representative Solomon Goldstein-Rose of the Third Hampshire District. I personally found the campus organization aspect the most helpful to me, and we discussed what it would take to have a campus that has 100% renewable energy."

Kudos, Jason!
