Winter 2023-2024 Athletics Recap

Winter 2023-2024 Athletics Recap

The Highlanders continued to thrive on the ice, court, slopes and pool throughout the winter season and achieved numerous individual and team accomplishments at both the varsity and jv level.

Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Ice Hockey for securing the Holt League Championship and to Boys Varsity Ski for claiming the Central Mass Ski League Ski Championship! Pingree swimming had a standout winning season, with Girls Swim taking 3rd place in the EIL and NEPSSA championships. Girls Varsity Ski finished strong with a second-place finish in the league. Both Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball, along with Girls Varsity Ice Hockey, advanced to the EIL playoffs. Their impressive performances showcased their skills, resilience, and teamwork.

Individual accolades are in order as well: Coach Branden Barboza of the Girls Varsity Basketball team was named Co-Coach of the Year; Ray Cuevas earned the title of EIL Player of the Year for Boys Varsity Basketball, Bella Vaz shined as EIL Co-Player of the Year for Girls Varsity Basketball, and Nick Hubbard earned Player of the Year honors for the Holt League. A special shoutout to Leo Bertone becoming a two time NEPSSA champion for his first place finish in the 100 Free. Below is a list of all winter Pingree athletics winter award honors.
