Welcome, New Faculty!

Each new school year brings a host of new faces to campus, students and adults alike. We’re pleased to welcome our newest colleagues to the Pingree community. 

Peter Albert joins the Technology Department as Technology Educator. Peter comes to us from the Groton School, where he was the Academic Technology and Systems Coordinator. Peter’s experience also includes work as the Director of the Study Skills Program and as a History/Interdisciplinary Studies teacher at the Hun School of Princeton. Peter earned his bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University and master’s degrees from Wesleyan University and Purdue University. 

Aahnix Bathurst joins the Science Department as a Teaching Fellow. Aahnix received his bachelor’s degree from Amherst College. Most recently, he worked as Project Coordinator at the Duke University Bergelson Lab. His past experience includes being a teaching assistant intern at VELA Summer Day Camp and serving as a tour guide and orientation trip leader at Amherst College. 

Rosy Cohane-Mann joins the Science Department as a Science Teacher. Rosy received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her teaching experience includes work as a science teacher at the Winsor School, the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and the Taft School in Connecticut. Rosy’s coaching experience includes soccer, lacrosse, and hiking.

Julian Egolf joins the Math Department as a Math Teacher. Julian received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and his juris doctor from New England Law. Julian’s teaching experience includes work as a Math teacher at Culver Academies, the Harvey School, and the Woodhall School. Julian previously coached ultimate at Pingree and looks forward to leading the team in the spring. 

Christian Gal joins the English Department as a Parental Leave Coverage English teacher. Christian received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and his master’s degree from Brown University. His experience includes teaching English and French at the Bancroft School. He also served as the associate director of admission and director of international admission at Bancroft. Christian worked as a Language and Thinking Instructor at Bard College, and also served as the Associate Director of the International School of Geneva. 

Maeli Goren-Wilson joins the Art Department as Theater Director. Maeli received her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and is completing her master of fine arts degree at Yale School of Drama. Maeli’s teaching experience includes work as a secondary ELA/ESL teacher at West Broadway Middle School in Rhode Island. Her theater experience includes directing or assistant directing over 25 productions, and serving as the Co-Artistic Director of the Yale Cabaret.

Jakob Hernandez joins the Math Department as a Math Teacher and Director of the Quant Center. Jakob earned his bachelor’s degree at Bryant University. He comes to us from the Pinewood School in California, where he was a teacher and leader of the Math Lab for the Upper School. His work experience also includes teaching at Northfield Mount Hermon. Jakob’s coaching background includes football, basketball, and baseball. 

Brooke Joynes joins the Art Department as Vocal Music Teacher. Brooke earned her bachelor’s degree at Spelman College and is in the process of completing her master’s degree at Georgia State University. Brooke’s experience includes the role of Assistant Conductor for the  Georgia State University Choirs and Assistant Conductor for the Golden Gate Singers in Atlanta. She was also the Student Conductor for the Spelman College Glee Club.  

Cam Kaplan joins the English Department as a Teaching Fellow. Cam graduated from Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco. She received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado College and is in the process of completing her master’s degree at Colorado College as well. Cam’s experience includes work as a student-teacher at Coronado High School and as a peer tutor at the Colorado College Writing Center. Cam worked as a naturalist at Tree Frog Treks Summer Camp and as a canvasser for Fair Share Action, Work for Progress.

Irv Levy joins the Science Department as a Science Teacher. Irv earned his bachelor’s degree at University of Bridgeport and master’s degrees from Wesleyan University and Boston University. Irv comes to us from Simmons University, where he served as an adjunct professor and laboratory manager in the Chemistry and Physics departments. Irv holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Gordon College, where he was chair of the Chemistry department. Irv has also worked as a visiting professor at Salem State University. 

Hannah Liu joins the school as Equity and Inclusion Student Programs Coordinator. Hannah received her bachelor’s degree from Brown University. She is completing her master’s degree at Harvard University Graduate School of Education, where she holds the position of Equity and Inclusion Fellow. Hannah’s work experience includes teaching and serving as Upper School Diversity Liaison at New Canaan Country School.

Michael Marinella joins the Athletics Department as Interim Athletics Operations and Auxiliary Coordinator from August through November 2021. Michael’s experience includes work as an auxiliary team member and acting alumni engagement officer at the Fenn School. In addition to his experience at Fenn, Michael worked as an athletics equipment operations assistant at Harvard University. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and his Master’s degree from Northeastern University. 

Caitlin Rae Miller joins the Art Department as Visual Art Teacher. Caitlin comes to us from the Pinewood School in California, where she held the positions of Visual Art Department Chair, and Art and Art History teacher. Caitlin’s experience also includes the role of Art and Technology teacher at the Aaron School in New York. She received her bachelor’s of fine arts degree from Syracuse University and her master’s from New York University.

Jong Kwan “JK” Park joins the College Office as College Counselor. JK comes to us from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, where he worked as a School Counselor. JK’s experience includes work as a Teaching Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and as a Graduate and Instructional Assistant at the Learning Resource Center for Student-Athletes at Boston College. JK earned his bachelor’s degree from Grove City College and his master’s from Boston College, Lynch Graduate School of Education. 

Kevin Parker joins the Science Department as a Science Teacher. Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and his master’s degree from Salem State University. Kevin comes to us from Northeastern University, where he is a member of the Cooperative Education Faculty of the College of Engineering. Kevin’s prior experience includes work as a Prevention and Wellness Educator at Quinnipiac University, as the Assistant Director of Residential Life for Prevention Education at Vassar College, and teaching at Concord Academy. 

Stephanie Topping joins the Math Department in a part-time teaching role. Stephanie served as a parental leave math teacher and Quant Center Director at Pingree during the 2020–2021 school year. Stephanie received her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University. Prior to her work at Pingree, Stephanie worked as an Associate Director in the Office of Institutional Research at Tufts University. She also served as a Senior Consultant at Navigant Consulting, Inc.

Kellee Webb joins the College Office as College Counselor. Kellee comes to Pingree from the Gunston School in Maryland, where she held the role of Director of College Guidance. Kellee’s work experience also includes the roles of Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at Berklee College of Music and Admissions Counselor at Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts. Kellee earned her bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music. 

Giselle Winchester joins the Language Department as a Spanish Teacher. Giselle earned her bachelor’s degree at Colgate University and her master’s degree from Syracuse University. She is currently completing her doctorate in Spanish Literature and Culture at Rutgers. Giselle’s experience includes graduate teaching assistant work at Rutgers University and Syracuse University.
