Pingree School student Ciaran Mohan (Class of 2025) has earned third place in the recent Art as Activism Poster Contest for high school students. The contest, sponsored by Leading Ladies, a non-profit organization dedicated to social justice, challenged students to create posters encouraging people to vote.
Mohan's poster was one of over 70 submissions received from students across Massachusetts. The contest's judges, a panel of professional artists and art educators, evaluated entries based on the clarity of the message, the impact of the imagery, the use of graphic design elements, and the overall thematic relevance.
The winning posters, including Mohan's third-place entry, will be on display at various locations throughout the summer. The first public showing will be at the Leading Ladies booth at Beverly ArtsFest this Saturday, June 15th, from 10 am to 4 pm. The posters will then move to Beverly City Hall for a two-week exhibit, followed by potential screenings at The Cabot before movies.
A formal award ceremony celebrating the contest winners will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, at a Community Conversation with The Cabot focused on voting and the upcoming elections. At this event, Mohan will receive his cash prize, made possible by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
Congratulations to Ciaran Mohan on this well-deserved recognition!
