With pencils in hand and a renewed sense of possibility, students are already making their marks and shining their lights on the new academic year. After a balmy few days of opening classes, the Kona Ice truck pulled into the front circle yesterday at the perfect time for cooling off and socializing. I love the start of the school year. Your children returned this week with a roar of enthusiasm and a warm sense of community. It is restorative to be back together as we all adjust to new rhythms, bedtimes, and homework routines.
The opening rush of classes is a transition closely partnered with making friends, building relationships with new teachers, adapting to the challenges of school life, and cheering for classmates. Special thanks to the class of 2024 for extending this welcome to the front drive this morning!
During Wednesday’s uplifting Convocation, students performed and our student body co-presidents, Genevieve Rich and Charlie Falk, and I offered words of welcome and reflection for the coming year.
