Taught by an EMT instructor with both classroom and clinical experience, this course in Standard First Aid and CPR is a hybrid program in which students complete online didactic instruction and then attend a class for skills development and practice. Students will learn CPR (rescue breathing, chest compressions, choking, and AED use) and first aid skills (splinting, bandaging, Epi-Pen administration, patient positioning, and patient interviewing). After successful course completion, students will earn a course completion card that can be used to demonstrate qualifications to provide care in an emergency.

Course fee: $125

Class times are May 8 and 15 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Students are required to do some online work prior to class meeting. The online portion will open on May 1 and is expected to be completed prior to the classroom work.

Photography- Taking Better Pictures

Whether you shoot pictures with your phone or a dedicated camera, your photography can greatly improve with some tips from a professional photographer (wepsphoto.com). In this 3-session workshop we will explore the concept of composition and how a viewer’s eyes “reads” a photograph. We will examine the problems of taking pictures with bright backgrounds and discover ways to manage the contrast problem. Improving our photography of people will elevate our images from simple pictures to expressive portraits, and we will use post-production software to “clean up” pictures after they are shot to improve the final image.

Bring your camera and creative energy to this course to learn to better capture and create stunning images!

Class times are July 10, 12, and 19 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
