Partnering for the Future: PrepWorks
Prep@Pingree successfully launched a new college internship initiative in summer 2022, placing three alumni in ten-week internships with local businesses and organizations. Two interns, Nahdyn Reyes and Genesis Galdamez, provided administrative support at the Essex County Community Foundation, and Aramis Negron was an apprentice for the senior construction manager at Trinity Financial. The students received training, personal coaching, career guidance, and hands-on experience while completing meaningful job placements. Plans are now underway to increase the number of interns for next summer to 10, enhance the program by formalizing the recruitment and onboarding processes, and expand participation through community partnerships.
 

Alumni Leadership Council
Prep@Pingree has convened an alumni council to assist and advocate for the program among our expanding alumni network. Three alumni have agreed to serve as ambassadors to provide education, outreach, and support to their peers:

• Joel Fernandez, P@P ’11: Senior Research Analyst for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association
• Efe Airewele, P@P ’11, ’12: attends Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine
• Jayson Sanderson, P@P ’12, ’13: Teacher in Lynn Public School/ Center for Community Independence
   

Mentorship Program
Every Prep@Pingree student is paired with an alumni mentor to shepherd them through the triumphs and challenges of adolescence. Leverage your first-hand knowledge to help students effectively navigate new experiences like considering independent schools, overcoming social challenges, applying to college, and more. Remote mentorship opportunities are available.
