Team Overview

The Pingree JV Field Hockey team focuses on developing essential skills to prepare players for varsity competition. Our program emphasizes fundamental techniques including stick handling, passing, receiving, shooting, and positional awareness within a supportive team environment.

Coaches work closely with each player to improve individual abilities while building team chemistry and tactical understanding. Through structured practices and competitive games, athletes gain confidence and develop a deeper appreciation for the sport.

The program balances skill development with game experience, allowing players to apply techniques in real competition. Our emphasis on both individual improvement and collective achievement creates a positive atmosphere where players can grow their abilities while experiencing the camaraderie and excitement of team competition.

Coaches

Head Coach: Courtney Callahan

A member of the college office at Pingree, Courtney Callahan is excited to step in as the head JV Field Hockey coach. Courtney graduated from Quinnipiac University where she played field hockey in college. Before Pingree, she coached and worked at Dana Hall School.

Assistant Coach: Alexa Kottmeyer

Lex Kottmeyer joined the Pingree community in the fall of 2018 as a Math Teacher and Assistant Coach for JV Field Hockey. Additionally, Lex leads the APEX academic programs at Pingree. She looks forward to engaging with the students in fun applications of problem solving and strategic thinking on the field and in the classroom.
