Varsity Soccer - Girls
Pingree girls’ soccer competes in the Eastern Independent League while also playing a challenging schedule outside of the league. The team has enjoyed great success in recent years having regularly qualified for the New England Tournament, winning back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014 and 2016 as well moving to Class B.
The goals of our program are to develop teams that can compete successfully and to instill in our players the value of always striving for competitive excellence without compromising a commitment to good sportsmanship. Please come by the field to watch one of our games!

Head Coach: Dushawne "Doc" Simpson
Dushawne Simpson is the former Director of Coaching at Aztec and current assistant coach of the Boston Breakers professional team. As coach, Simpson has led Aztec Soccer teams to state, regional, and national titles. Simpson began coaching for Pingree in 2011 and led the team to back-to-back New England championships in 2013 and 2014. He was named Salem News Coach of the Year in 2013.
Before moving over to coaching, Simpson was himself a standout soccer player. Simpson played his youth soccer in Connecticut and played his high school soccer at Avon Old Farms School and then Avon High School. At Avon High School, Simpson helped lead his team to a #2 national high school soccer ranking in 1990 and was selected to the 1990 CT All-State team in Soccer, Basketball, and Track.
Simpson continued to shine at the collegiate level, playing at NCAA Division II powerhouse Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) as a freshman and then moving on to Salem State College. As a freshman at SCSU, Dushawne was all-conference and Freshman of the Year when he led the league in scoring, and he was an all-conference performer at Salem State College.
Simpson followed up his brilliant college career by playing professionally for several teams, including the New Hampshire Phantoms, the Connecticut Wolves, and the Boston Bulldogs, as well as U.S. Avellino of Serie C in Italy.

Growing up in Saratoga Springs, NY, Coach Crandall has a strong passion for sports and athletics. Crandall played four years of varsity soccer and lacrosse in high school, and continued her soccer career at the collegiate level at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. She received Liberty League All-Academic Team in 2013, 2014, and 2015.The St. Lawrence women's soccer team earned its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1989 during Coach Crandall's senior season in the fall of 2015. Currently, Crandall enjoys instilling her passion for the game in young athletes through coaching. She has most recently been the St. Paul’s School Girl’s Varsity Soccer assistant coach and the St. Paul’s School Girl’s JV Lacrosse coach for the past two years. Crandall has also coached several camps and clubs including STLGSA, FC Freeze, Lake Placid Soccer Camp, Team Prep Camp, Caramba. In addition to coaching, Crandall teaches Math 2 and AP Calculus AB at Pingree since 2018.
