Pingree's Rowing team, established in 2017, operates out of Chebacco Lake in Essex, Massachusetts. The team uses six rowing shells, two Boston Whalers, and five box cones. The team competes in the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association, participating in events such as the NEIRA Boys & Girls regatta, They compete against schools such as BU Academy, Thayer Academy and Berwick.

Jim Gardner is familiar with Pingree having previously worked as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the team and has substantial experience with Rowing. Jim rowed collegiately at Trinity College as part of the Heavyweight Crew. His experience includes racing at several venues including Henley Royal Regatta, IRA Regatta, Dad Vail Regatta, Head of Charles, head of Connecticut and head of the Schuykill. He was also a member of the 1980 Pre-Olympic Selection Squad. Additional coaching experience includes working as an assistant coach at Trinity College and St. mark's school. Outside of Rowing, Coach Gardner has had an extensive career in business and entrepreneurship and has worked as a lecturer at Salem State and a High School chemistry teacher at Peabody High School.
Elyssa Barrett was a coxswain for the Trinity College men's rowing team and has coxed master's crews since graduation. Before coming to Pingree, Elyssa coached rowing at Emma Willard School.
Peter joined the Pingree community after four years of working at Groton School. He started coaching in 2002 as the interim novice women’s rowing coach at Fairfield University while still a student. After coaching at a number of Nike rowing camps and a couple years of living in Colorado, Peter returned to the northeast to work at Avon Old Farms School, where he coached JV and Varsity soccer, JV and Varsity wrestling, and the JV tennis team. Peter then moved to the Hun School of Princeton where he was the head boys rowing coach before taking over the novice program for his last year at Hun. Peter will be coaching with the soccer and rowing programs at Pingree and enjoys coaching his daughters' soccer teams when he can.
