A member of the administrative team, Betsy oversees the athletics and afternoon programs at Pingree. Pingree competes in the Eastern Independent League, Evergreen League and Holt League and currently offers 45 teams across 24 interscholastic sports. Prior to joining Pingree, Kennedy was Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare at Merrimack College. She previously worked as business consultant at CSpace and consulting program manager at Forrester Research. Betsy earned her bachelor's from Bowdoin College, where she received the Ellen Tiemer Award for leadership. She captained the lacrosse team and was US Lacrosse/IWCLA First Team All-American and D3 Defender of the Year. She spent six years coaching middle school and high school lacrosse in Charlestown, MA. Betsy also completed the Bridge Program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Jabari Scutchins is a New York native who joins the Pingree community as the Assistant Director of Athletics. Jabari’s commitment to education and athletics began during his tenure at INLY in Scituate, Massachusetts. While at INLY, Jabari served as the Athletic Director and Physical Education Specialist, during which he developed INLY’s comprehensive and competitive physical education program. One of his proudest accomplishments at INLY was bringing the school four championships in his six years as the flag-football teams coach. Jabari earned his Bachelor's degree in International Studies and Foreign Relations from Utica College. Jabari is determined and committed to bridging the gap between the field of athletics and academics.
Luke Wamboldt comes to us from Kents Hill School, where he has served as the Assistant Director of Admissions, mathematics teacher, varsity baseball coach, and varsity girls basketball coach. Luke earned his bachelor’s degree from Bates College, where he played varsity baseball and served as a sports information assistant. Luke earned a master’s degree in sport management and a master’s of business administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has worked in player development and as trackman/minor league video intern for the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles respectively.
Nick earned his bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Northeastern University in 2002. He has been certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and licensed by the state of Massachusetts since July 2002. Nick came on board at Pingree in 2005 as the assistant athletic trainer and was named head athletic trainer in 2011. Nick has a passion for athletics and love for athletic training that keeps him engaged in his role.
Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Colorado State University in 2011. She then returned to her hometown of Fargo, ND to complete her master’s degree in athletic training. While enrolled at North Dakota State University, Melissa completed clinical rotations with the football, wrestling, and men's and women's basketball teams. Melissa believes sports participation should teach students not only athletic and interpersonal skills, but also the fundamentals of nutrition, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention and care. She also teaches courses in our Science Department.
