Saturday, November 2, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 3, at 3:00 p.m.
Join Pingree’s theater department for their rendition of two plays by Russian author Anton Chekov. The Bear (1888) is a one-act comedy in which widow-in-mourning Elena Popova and angry landowner Grigory Smirnov clash in an epic battle of the sexes in Popova’s living room. The Anniversary (1891) tells the story of a bank chairman and his deputy, desperate to complete a falsified financial report in time for the bank’s fifteenth anniversary celebration and shareholders’ meeting.

Winter Musical: Guys and Dolls
"Guys and Dolls" is a classic musical set in vibrant 1950s New York City. It tells the story of Nathan Detroit, a gambler trying to organize a floating craps game, while juggling his long engagement to Adelaide, a showgirl who dreams of settling down. Meanwhile, Sky Masterson, another gambler, falls for Sarah Brown, a dedicated missionary at the Salvation Army. The musical weaves together their love stories with humor, catchy songs, and themes of love, second chances, and figuring out what really matters in life.
Fall Production 2023: The 39 Steps
Patrick Barlow's The 39 Steps is a high-octane spoof of Alfred Hitchcock's thriller by the same name. Romance, mystery, and an onstage plane crash. Accents and dialects galore. A small cast of intrepid actors plays multiple roles, sometimes at the same time, to bring the entire world of the film to life onstage. This hilarious adaptation criticizes the pretentiousness of the thriller genre while also celebrating what makes it so very fun.
