bobrauschenbergamerica (Fall 2021)
Pingree Theater Presents: bobrauschenbergamerica
bobrauschenbergamerica is...
- a theatrical riff created by Pingree students
- based on a play by Charles Mee
- in the style of Robert Rauschenberg, if Rauschenberg had been a playwright instead of a visual artist.
Join us on Friday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 30, at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., for a theatrical barbecue (vibes only—no food served) on the hill outside the rowing shed. A wild collage of love stories and line dances, chicken jokes and chicken lunches, bobrauchenbergamerica explores the topic of "American Freedom" through the lens of our relationships, pop culture, and even the creative process itself. This nonlinear theatrical experience is unlike any "play" you've seen before. Seating is limited; please arrive early. Chairs and picnic blankets will be available, but bring your own if you prefer. Dress warmly. All performances will be followed by a brief talkback with the cast.
Accessibility: Please note that the performance takes place outdoors on uneven, grassy ground. If you have accessibility concerns, please contact Theater Director Maeli Goren-Wilson.
