We See You Learning Across Borders

Pingree’s Learning Across Borders (L.A.B.) program connects classroom learning to real-world experiences on campus and around the globe. Through domestic and international travel, cross-cultural study, and immersive exploration, students expand their worldview, build empathy, and engage deeply with global issues. An integral part of the Pingree experience, L.A.B. empowers students to develop cultural fluency and grow into informed, compassionate, and courageous global citizens—ready to lead with purpose in a complex and changing world.

Fall Local L.A.B. | Grade-Level Excursions

Local L.A.B. allows students to visit significant local sites and landmarks and take advantage of the many cultural and natural resources surrounding Pingree’s campus. During Trimester 1, trips are organized by grade level. While Grade 12 students visit colleges of interest, Grades 9–11 go on local trips to build connections and bond as a class.

Winter Local L.A.B | On-Campus Workshops

During Trimester 2, the Pingree community devotes the day to invigorating on-campus workshops and a rousing student-faculty basketball game. This full-day experience makes intentional space to prioritize exploration, personal enrichment, and fun.

Spring L.A.B. | Domestic and International Travel

During Trimester 3, students have the opportunity to travel and participate in exchanges connected to their coursework. International trips often reunite them with the peers they hosted or will host during the academic year.

This is an opportunity that not a lot of students get to participate in, and it made me realize how lucky I am to be able to make lifelong friends across the world...Living with such an incredible host family, and learning to adapt to their norms has been so much fun. I have created the best relationship with Lou's parents. Colbie Lind J.Current Student
