Students were taught to think like an entrepreneur and tackle real-world challenges using design thinking, a creative problem-solving process used by top businesses and startups. Working in teams, students identified challenges, brainstormed ideas, and created prototypes to address real-world problems. After exploring the five key stages of design thinking—empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test—teams pitched their solutions in a fast-paced, Shark Tank-style presentation.

Students worked with Endicott College's Dance faculty member JBIZZ to learn different hip-hop techniques, including commercial dance. In addition to learning elements of choreography, dancers practiced isolation, body control, and musicality to bring their own dance styles into the studio.

For the past ten years, the REAL Program, a nonprofit organization, has worked to improve literacy in Lynn and provide children with access to books. Students learned about the work of the REAL program and built, decorated, and stocked Little Libraries that were placed around Lynn.

Participants visited the Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI), which addresses critical challenges facing our oceans, human health, and the environment. Students visited two sites of research activities and heard from specialists about current projects and their careers in science.

Participants obtained a two-year certification from the American Heart Association. They learned the critical skills needed to respond to and manage a cardiac arrest, choking, or first aid emergency, as well as adult CPR and AED. Students also learned skills like how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies.
