Tim Johnson P’26, Head of School

Dr. Timothy M. Johnson has been Head of School at Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA since 2009. Under Dr. Johnson’s leadership, the Pingree community has flourished, with the opening of a brand new arts wing and state-of-the-art Athletics Center in 2014, and the completion of a $20 million campaign for the arts, athletics, and access in 2016. With Dr. Johnson at the helm, Pingree remains committed to its identity as a small day school encouraging critical thinking, discipline of mind, and civic engagement.

Prior to Pingree, Dr. Johnson served as Chair of the Arts Department, Head of Upper School, Associate Head of School, and Assistant Head of School at Philadelphia’s Springside School. Dr. Johnson has also taught at the University of Pennsylvania and Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, VA. Dr. Johnson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College with a degree in Studio Art and Art History. He received his MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2001 and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. In addition to being a devoted athlete, Dr. Johnson is an accomplished artist who has participated in numerous juried exhibitions in Virginia, New York, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. He lives in South Hamilton, MA with his wife, Jen Groeber, and their four children.

Jamie Kellogg '85, P’19, ’21, ’21 President

Jamie Kellogg is senior advisor at Bain Capital Credit. He has been with Bain Capital Credit since 1999. Jamie is a member of the Risk & Oversight Committee and the head of BCC’s Trading Desk. Previously, Jamie spent five years at John Hancock Funds where he held various positions in the Fixed Income group. He received an MBA from Boston University and a BA from Lake Forest College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder. Jamie, his wife Katherine (Kate) Cairns Kellogg '86, their son Jay '19, and daughters Phoebe '21 and Julia '21, reside in Marblehead, MA.

Courtney Kagan P’20, ’23, Vice President

Courtney and her husband, Mark, are parents to Pingree student Chris, ’23 and Pingree alum, Caroline '20 who attends UVM. Their eldest daughter, Alexandra, is working in HR in Boston. Courtney is a Physician Recruiter and Liaison for North Shore Physicians Group following a career in Executive Search. She presently serves on the Executive Committee of the YMCA of the North Shore board, and is a member of the Women's Leadership Council at McLean Hospital. She has also held several Board leadership roles at the YMCA of the North Shore, Shore Country Day School, the Charlestown Mothers Association, and the YMCA of Greater Boston’s, Training, Inc. Courtney and her family reside in Ipswich.

Stephanie M. Patton '00, Secretary

A member of Pingree’s class of 2000, Stephanie is the Senior Director of the BES Fellowship with BES, a national non-profit that identifies and trains leaders to transform education in their communities. In her work, she trains and leaders to design, found, and sustain high-achieving urban schools. Previously, Stephanie served in a network leadership role at Excel Academy, supporting the growth of its principals. Stephanie joined Excel in 2007, initially as a science teacher and Dean of Students. She then was the Founding Principal of Excel Academy-Chelsea, leading the team to successfully educate the first four cohorts of students. A 2010 recipient of the Sontag Prize in Urban Education, Stephanie received an M.S. in Teaching from Pace University and B.A. in Neuroscience/ Psychobiology from Connecticut College. Stephanie and her husband, John, have two children and reside in Woburn.

Sam Daume P’19, Treasurer

Sam and his wife, Cappy, are parents of recent Pingree graduate (Ben ’19). Sam is a Senior Vice President at the insurance brokerage firm Fred C. Church, where he helps executives at mid-sized companies, educational institutions and non-profits more effectively manage and insure their risks. Sam and his family reside in South Hamilton, MA.

Detris Adelabu P’22

Detris is a current Pingree parent; her daughter, Olivia, is in the 11th grade at Pingree. Detris is a clinical professor in the Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development Department at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. She is a student-centered, mission-driven educator with a firm commitment to support and enhance the academic development and life opportunities of her students. During her time as an academic dean and department chair, Detris led efforts to improve faculty development and student success. As founder and director of the Emerging Scholars Program, she works to create a deliberate pathway to undergraduate research opportunities and graduate study for underrepresented Students of Color and first-generation college students. Detris has made numerous presentations to educators on topics related to African American student achievement and has published in such journals as AdolescenceUrban Education, and the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship. She received her B.S. from Southern University-Baton Rouge, her M.S. from Purdue University, her Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her Ed.D. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Detris resides in North Andover.

Vini Aguiar ’12, ALB President

Vini is a Pingree graduate from the class of 2012 and will begin a three-year term as President of the Alumni Leadership Board. After Pingree, he attended Lehigh University where he received a BS in Engineering and Economics (2016) and a master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering (2020). Vini is currently a consultant for Boston Consulting Group (BCG).  He resides in Boston.

Allison Collins P’23, ’24, ’26

Allison and her husband, John, are the parents of Meghan ’23 and recently enrolled Lauren ’24, and younger daughters Emily, and Josie. The family resides in South Hamilton. Allison grew up in Philadelphia and attended Dartmouth College where she played lacrosse. Allison earned her master's in computer science from Penn State University. She was a senior director at Oracle for many years with a background in computer technology and software. John recently opened Great Marsh Brewing Company in Essex. In 2001, he launched Nolij Corp. which was sold to Lexmark in 2012.

Christina Comparato ’85, P’23, ’23

Christina and her husband, Chris, are the parents of Ella ’23, Sophia ’23, and Caroline (Georgetown University ’23) and reside in South Hamilton. Christina formerly worked in Pingree’s advancement and admission offices and in student affairs at Boston University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and University of South Carolina. Christina currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of The Community House in Hamilton. She also served on the Boards of The Waring School and The Hamilton Wenham Educational Fund. Christina has a BA from Colby College and an M.Ed from University of South Carolina. Chris is the CEO of Toast, a leading software company for the restaurant industry.

Sue Dowd P’16, ’18, ’20, ’22

Sue and her husband, Tim, are the parents of Courtney ’16, Cameron ’18, Tim ’20, and Erica ’22, and reside in Topsfield. Over the last decade as a Pingree parent, Sue has been an active volunteer for admissions, athletics, and the Pingree Parent Network (PPN). She is the current vice president of the board of Top Cupboard, a food pantry in Topsfield, and previously served on the Youth Soccer Board in Topsfield while also coaching for 10 years in the program. Sue also served on the Principals Council for Topsfield Elementary School, where she assisted the launch of a gifted and talented program. Today, she and her family maintain and manage commercial real estate and other outside investments. Sue is a graduate from St. Michael’s College where she played Division II soccer.

Jason Galui '95

Jason J. Galui is Founder/CEO of 4 Liberty Consulting LLC creatively collaborating at the nexus of business, government, and academia.  He is a Professor of Practice at the SMU Cox School of Business where he leads the SMU Commercial Diplomacy Initiative, and he is a Visiting Scholar and Director of the Eisenhower Working Group on Economic Statecraft at the Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service.  Jason launched back into civilian life following more than 20 years of military service during which he personally staffed President Obama and President Trump in the Oval Office along with their respective National Security Advisors and the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  

A two-time Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy, Jason taught and mentored two generations of West Point cadets.  He deployed to Kabul in 2011-2012 serving as Strategic Advisor to the Commanding General of the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, and in 2003 Jason led soldiers into combat during the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Jason earned an M.S. in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Ivy George P’18

Ivy George is Professor of Sociology and Social Work at Gordon College. She teaches in the areas of Globalisation, Social Stratification, and Human Diversity. She has earned degrees in Economics, Social Work, Social Policy, and Religious Studies from the Universities of Madras, Brandeis, and Harvard. She has researched and published on the subjects of Child Labor, Marriage and Culture, and International Adoption. Since 2006 she has led students on off-campus study programs to South Africa. In recent years she has served on the Faculty Senate of Gordon College and on the Board of Brookwood School. Ivy is the mother of Pingree alumna Kripa Philip '18.

Kim Guerster P’20

Kim's professional experience spans both educational and institutional fundraising. Her past roles have included Director of Reunion Giving at UPenn, Director of Principal Gifts at BU, and most recently, Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship a the Peabody Essex Museum. Residents of Manchester, Kim and her husband, Jon have three children, Bey ’20, Mason, and Brooke.

Ryan Hendrickson ’03

A member of Pingree’s class of 2003, Ryan has served on Pingree’s Alumni Leadership Board since 2009. After graduating from Wesleyan University, Ryan joined Ameriprise as a financial advisor, which led him to his current role as President of Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors, LLC (securities offered through Raymond James Financial Services, Inc). Ryan and his wife, Stephanie, reside in Boston.

Pauline Jenkins P’23, ’24

Pauline and her husband, Pete, are current Pingree parents to Peter ’23 and Hanna ’24.  Pauline was a former Senior Vice President at Aviva, a large, public UK-based insurer, until 2009. Earlier in her career, she worked at Chubb and John Hancock in various marketing and distribution roles. While her main focus has been her children since leaving Aviva, she has remained active within her community and served on several non-profit boards. Pauline recently finished two terms on the Board at the Berkshire School (2015–2021), and also served as an ad hoc member of Shore’s Advancement Committee. She also served as chair of the Boxford Elementary School Trust and Boxford Library Board.  She has a BS in Finance from Ithaca College and an MBA from Clarkson University.  Pauline’s husband, Pete, is the CEO of Harvey Performance Company based in Rowley (manufacturing and metalworking industry).  The Jenkins family resides in Boxford.

Rob Job P’20

Rob is a Chartered Financial Analyst,(CFA) and has 28 years of investment management experience in a variety of businesses. Rob is a partner and Chief Business officer at Altrinsic Global Advisors. Previously he was the Founder & Managing Partner of Arboretum Global, a consulting and advisory firm focused on designing solutions for growth in Asset Management, Financial Services Technology and access to Global Institutional Markets. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Previously, he was the Head of Global Distribution at PanAgora Asset Management. Prior to PanAgora, he was the Head of Global Consultant Relations at Putnam Investments after serving in the US Army. Rob and his wife Amy reside in Wenham and are parents of Isabelle 20.  Amy is the Founder & Proprietor of Jolie Tea Company in Salem, MA.

Matt Kadnar P’23

Matt and his wife, Stephanie, are the parents of Ellie ’23 and reside in Winchester. Matt is a Partner and Portfolio Manager on the asset allocation team at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co., a global investment and asset management firm. He previously was a Senior Vice President at Putnam Investments, Associate General Counsel at LPL Financial Services, and a Senior Associate at Melick & Porter, LLP.  Matt has a B.S. from Boston College and a J.D. from St. Louis University.

David Kennedy P’21, ’23, ’26

Dave and his wife, Lauren are current Pingree parents (Carolyn ’21, Frankie ’23, Meredith '26).  Dave is General Counsel at Kelmar, a national company that provides unclaimed property solutions to governments. Dave is a graduate of Suffolk Law School, Boston College, and St. John’s Prep. Dave and his family reside in Marblehead.

Mark Landgren P’18, ’21

Mark and his wife, Trish, parents to Anna ’18, Anders ’21, and Elizabeth. Mark is the CEO of the Nexxus Group, a leader in Scan Based Trading (SBT) services. Mark joined the Nexxus Group in 2009 as COO and General Counsel. He oversaw the operations, legal, finance, and human services functions of the company before transitioning to CEO in 2013. Mark received his B.A. from St. Lawrence University and his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law. Mark and his family reside in Boxford.

Dr. Rebecca Symmes Lee ’94, P’22, ’24

Dr. Rebecca Symmes Lee ’94, P’22, ’24: Becky is a Pingree graduate from the Class of 1994.  She and her husband, Ken, are the proud parents of Caroline '22, Charlotte '24, and Jonathan.  Becky is a primary care physician and serves as the Senior Medical Director of Population Health and Primary Care at North Shore Health System at Mass General Brigham.  She received her B.A. from Dartmouth College, her M.D. from UMass Medical School, and her M.A. in Healthcare Administration from Harvard's T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The Lee family resides in Danvers.

Alex Leikikh P’22, ’25

Alex and his wife, Jennifer, are current Pingree parents (Eva ’22) and (Allie, ’25).  Alex is the Chief Executive Officer of MullenLowe Group, a global advertising agency network headquartered in London. Alex is a graduate of Carleton College. Alex and his family reside in Marblehead, MA.

Lois Lombardo-Maravelis P’16, ’18, ’21

Lois and her husband, Art, are the parents of Evan ’16, James ’18, and Charlotte ’21 and reside in North Andover. Lois has been a practicing dentist for over 25 years and operates her own dental practice in Andover. She received her B.S. from Tufts University and her dental degree from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. In addition to her dental practice, Lois was also an instructor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she taught removable restorative dentistry. 

Bob Mullaney P’21, ’23, ’26

Bob, his wife Sara, daughters Maddie '21, Grace '23, and son Drew reside in Boxford. Bob is currently the President and CEO of RG Barry Corporation, a Blackstone Group portfolio company that develops and markets lifestyle brands. Prior to joining RG Barry, Bob was President and COO of Shoes.com. Previous to Shoes.com, Bob was the President, Americas at The Rockport Company, a division of adidas group. Bob received his B.S. in Accounting and Communications from Babson College and an M.B.A from Bentley University. Bob is a member of the Board of Directors of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America. He is a Board Advisor to ecommerce data management solution, Syndic8. Additionally, Bob serves on the Board of Trustees of the USA Women’s Field Hockey Foundation.

James Edward Murray '04

James is a Pingree graduate from the Class of 2004. After Pingree, James attended Howard University where he graduated with a BA in journalism. He received his MBA from Vanderbilt University with a focus on strategy and entrepreneurship. James is currently the CEO and co-founder of Therify, an inclusive mental health benefit for employees from underrepresented backgrounds. Previously, he worked on the Media Partnerships team at Facebook in New York City and led the company's partnership work with digital news organizations in the US. James grew up in Swampscott and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Meredith Tedford P’23

Meredith and her husband, Jamie, are the parents of Nate, Lucy, and Whit ’23, and reside in Marblehead. Meredith is the current director of the Pingree Parent Network and has been an active volunteer and ambassador for Pingree over the last few years. She has also been an active volunteer for Marblehead Public Schools, serving as both Chair and Vice Chair of the School Committee.  Meredith’s professional career was in marketing and communications; she served as a producer at Arnold Worldwide advertising agency and a publisher at Brand Networks. Meredith is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and is currently completing her master’s degree in mindfulness studies at Lesley University.

David Tinagero

David is the current Head of School at St. Andrew’s School in Barrington, RI, where he has served since 2015. Prior to joining St. Andrew’s, he served as the associate vice chancellor of student affairs and dean of students at New York University Abu Dhabi. David has more than 20 years of educational leadership experience and holds a master’s of science in education supervision and administration from Mercy College. David and his wife, Amy, have two children, Declan and Cole.

Juan Yepez P’22, ’23, ’25

Juan and his wife, Yarisie, are the parents of Andiana, Xavier ’22, Dante ’23, and Jaselle ’25, and reside in Stoneham. Juan is the CEO of Mainstream Global, a global service provider of testing, grading, data destruction, and refurbishment services. Juan founded the company in 2000. Mainstream Global has also invested time and resources in the purchase and redevelopment of over 500,000 square feet of mill space in Lawrence. Juan is currently serving as vice president of the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence and chairman of MassHire Merrimack Workforce Development Board. He is a graduate of Bentley University.

Stratton Lloyd P’23, ’25

Stratton and his wife, Trent, are the parents of Schuyler ’23, Waters ’25, and Shreve, and reside in Wenham. Stratton currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF), overseeing the Foundation’s strategy, finance, and business operations and leading its systems philanthropy initiatives. Prior to joining ECCF in 2018, Stratton served as executive vice president at EBSCO Information Services where he worked for 14 years. Stratton received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
