Pingree Parents Association
August 1, 2014
Dear Pingree Families,
Welcome new and returning families to the 2014-15 school year! And welcome (or welcome
back) to the Pingree Parents Association (PPA), an important group of which all parents and
guardians are members.
The PPA supports the partnership between Pingree and parents by facilitating
communication between parents and the school, promoting engagement and volunteerism,
building a sense of community, and supporting students and faculty through fundraising.
This year, the PPA’s theme is “HOW DO YOU CONNECT WITH PINGREE?” Our families
come from more than 50 communities, so it’s critically important that we provide many
opportunities — both in-person and virtually — to connect with the faculty and staff, as well
as each other. Throughout the year, we hold regular PPA meetings, grade-level parent
potluck dinners, parent socials, and morning coffees with Dr. Tim Johnson. In May, we’ll
hold our signature fundraising event, A Taste of Pingree. We also have our own parent-only
private social networking group — PING — through which parents can connect with each
other on topics ranging from carpooling to raising teens. (PING can be found in the Pingree
Parent Portal (P3).) Finally, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer for a day, a week, or
the full year –- whatever fits your schedule. (Volunteer opportunities can be found here.)
So, how will YOU connect with Pingree?
My best wishes for a terrific year!
