Pingree Parents Association
August 1, 2013
Dear Pingree Parents/Guardians,
On behalf of Pingree School, and as incoming President of the Pingree Parents Association (PPA), I would like to welcome all new and returning students and their families. I hope your summer has been enjoyable and relaxing so far and look forward to seeing you in the near future.
By way of introduction, I am the mother of Katherine, a senior; and Anne, a graduate of the Class of 2008. I have been involved with the PPA in many different capacities over a period of seven years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Pingree is a fantastic environment for our children and both my daughters have benefited immensely from it. From the talented and caring faculty and staff, to the beautiful grounds and facilities, Pingree offers a unique community for each student to thrive academically, artistically, and athletically!
The purpose of the PPA is to assist the Administration and the Board of Trustees to support the school’s mission, programs and activities; facilitate the exchange of ideas and information; and promote goodwill. The PPA is a great platform in which to get involved at all different levels. Traditions in the fall include the Opening Day of School Convocation ceremony, the James C. Deveney Golf Classic, and Homecoming. Throughout the year, we hold class level parent potluck-style dinners, parent education events, receptions prior to concerts and plays, and morning coffees with Dr. Tim Johnson, our Head of School. There are also opportunities to assist in various fundraising and friendraising activities. I encourage each and every one of you to attend and join in on as many of these events as possible! We hope that you will take advantage of the many opportunities available for parents to get involved, meet other parents, have fun, and be a greater part of our community.
To start the new school year off, we will have our first PPA Meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at 7 p.m. I hope you all can attend, and please feel free to email or call me with any questions you may have. At the first meeting, we will have information about opportunities to volunteer. I hope to see you there, but if you cannot attend, feel free to contact me, any of our other officers, or your class representatives with questions, thoughts, or ideas.
I look forward to another action-packed school year. Your input and involvement are always appreciated. The contact information for the Officers of the Parents Association is below, as wellas a list of upcoming fall events. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, ideas or observations.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Donna Di Lillo, P’08, P’14 President Pingree Parents Association
