Financial Aid Timetable

Pingree uses the services of the SSS to provide an objective determination of family need.  In conjunction with the SSS recommendation, the Financial Aid Committee of Pingree School calculates awards within the context of mission and resource considerations.  It is extremely important that the Financial AId Committee receive the required information in a timely manner.    Current families must submit their financial aid forms by January 4, 2010. 

Below please find a schedule of the necessary filings for new families.

-The Parents Financial Statement submission deadline is February 1. Complete the PFS online at NAIS (En Español ) or call the Admission Office to request a copy. The original is to be sent to Princeton with a copy to Pingree by the same date.  Delays in submitting the information to Princeton may prevent the School from having the information necessary for consideration. 

-A signed copy of your 2008 IRS Form 1040 with all attendant schedules and W-2's from all family wage earners is due February 1.

-A signed copy of your IRS Form 4506 must be returned to this office by the February 1 deadline.  Download at: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf.  Please fill out lines 1 through 4 only, listing The Pingree School, Inc., as the third party.

-For families who own a business, the SSS Business/Farm Statement is required by Pingree.  Return this form to Pingree School by the February 1 deadline.  The Admission Office will provide this form upon request.

-Pingree School considers the financial resources of both natural parents before making financial aid decisions.  If the parent with custody remarries, we also consider the resources of the stepparent, keeping in mind the stepparent's obligations to his or her natural children. The Financial Aid Committee is not bound by the assertion that one parent disclaims responsibility for the educational expenses of his or her own child.  If necessary, the SSS Financial Statement for Parents who are Separated or Divorced or Who have Never Been Married needs to be completed by the noncustodial parent and returned to the School by the February 1 deadline.

-A signed copy of your 2009 IRS Form 1040 with attendant schedules and W-2's from all family wage earners is due to Pingree by April 30 if acceptance and enrollment is established.  Financial Aid Awards are contigent upon receiving the signed 2008 IRS form 1040 with all attendant schedules and W-2's from all family wage earners by the April 30 deadline.
