Pingree believes strongly that access to an excellent independent education should be available to qualified students, regardless of their families' financial means. In that spirit, Pingree offers a need-based financial aid program in the hope that no student will be discouraged from applying because of financial circumstances. Currently 31% of Pingree's student body receives tuition assistance.
Pingree uses the criteria of the School and Student Services for Financial Aid (S.S.S.) in Princeton, New Jersey.
The deadline to apply for financial aid is January 2 for returning families and February 1 for new families.
Families are required to re-apply for financial aid on an annual basis. In order for families to apply for renewal of financial aid grants and loans, they are required to apply online at sss.nais.org. In addition, families must submit a signed copy of the most recently filed 1040 tax form, with all attendant schedules, to the Admission and Financial Aid Office by the application deadlines noted above. (Please note, these forms can also be uploaded online to a secure web portal at sss.nais.org.) No financial aid will be granted unless these steps are taken.
