Connect with Students - Become a Senior Project Sponsor!
Pingree students have been involved with “Senior Projects” each spring for several years; many of you may remember participating yourselves. For the first time, we are reaching out to our entire alumni network to ask if you would like to become Senior Project Sponsors. In the past, individual alumni hosted senior interns, but now we hope to formalize the program and broaden the opportunities offered.
We hope you will be interested in offering your professional expertise – regardless of where you live. It is our hope that we will find a wide range of possibilities for our seniors including home stays across the country and even abroad.
Our 2013 Senior Project time span is May 22 to May 31, 2013 and requires a minimum of 50 hours of work by our students. Formal proposals including the educational intent and outcome of the project must be submitted by each student and approved by the student’s assigned on-campus Senior Project Advisor by the end of January. Students are also required to keep a journal detailing the number of hours spent on the project each day. At the conclusion of the project, students share their experiences with a formal presentation to a panel of their peers, faculty, and staff. Alumni Project Sponsors are welcome and encouraged to attend the presentations.
Please do not let location stand in your way of volunteering to host a Pingree Senior Intern. If you live outside commuting distance from the North Shore area and are not able to offer a home stay, we will do our best to arrange alternative living and transportation accommodations for the student.
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor this year or in the future, please click here to complete the Senior Project Sponsor Form. If you would like to talk more about the opportunity, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you!
Sincerely,
