Meet the Athletics Department

Department Bios

Alan McCoy – Director of Athletics

Alan has been Director of Athletics at Pingree since 1980. He is a graduate of McDaniel College where he played soccer and lacrosse. Before coming to Pingree, he coached soccer at the collegiate level, as well as club soccer and lacrosse. In addition to his duties as Director of Athletics, Alan has served as coach of the girls soccer, girls basketball and boys lacrosse programs here at Pingree. Mr. McCoy firmly believes in athletics participation as a valuable co-curricular teaching tool where students can experience, teamwork, collaboration, and sportsmanship.   

Chris Powers – Director of Athletic Facilities 

Chris has been working for Pingree Athletics since 1994. He is a graduate of Boston University's Sargent College of Allied Health and received a Master's of Education from Boston University. He has served in several capacities during his time at Pingree including, Associate Director of Athletics, Head Athletics Trainer, and Assistant Director of Athletics. Currently he is the head football coach and head baseball coach. Chris believes athletics is an extension of the classroom; the relationships and lessons learned during athletic competitions are lessons that will help athletes navigate their futures, in times of both success and stress. 

Tara Kelly Sartori '98 – Athletics Department Coordinator

Tara is a proud Pingree alumnae. She went on to earn her bachelor of science degree in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University in 2003 and a Master's in Business Administration from Bentley University in 2008, but her passion for fitness and athletics brought Tara back to Pingree. Tara is also the head women's lacrosse coach at Salem State University and a certified personal trainer. Tara believes that athletics are an excellent tool to develop confidence and leadership through fun, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Nick Ogles, ATC – Head Athletic Trainer

Nick earned his bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Northeastern University in 2002. He has been certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and licensed by the state of Massachusetts since July 2002. Nick came on board at Pingree in 2005 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and was named Head Athletic Trainer at the beginning of the 2011 academic year. Nick has a passion for athletics and love of athletic training that keeps him engaged in his role.

Britney Rand, MS, ATC – Assistant Athletic Trainer 

Britney joined Pingree in 2010 after graduating from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. As a student at Northeastern, Britney assisted primarily the men’s basketball team, was a teaching assistant for three athletic training education program courses, and completed internships with Lahey Clinic and several high schools. Britney earned her master’s degree in sport management with a concentration in intercollegiate athletic administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2012 . She holds a Certification in Sports Nutrition from Simmons College and is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. Britney is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a licensed and certified athletic trainer in the state of Massachusetts.
